Kim Koelmeyer

Content Manager at Anika Legal

Kim Koelmeyer Headshot
Bio

Kim is a law and journalism graduate working in communications at the Level Crossing Removal Project. Passionate about the role of storytelling in access to justice, she is also the Founder and Editor in Chief of Law in Colour, an online platform sharing the stories of people of colour in and around the law.

In my time volunteering alongside Kim, she’s taken our social media to new heights, dabbled in PR (scoring epic coverage for Evictions) and been a fantastic team player. You can always rely on her to put her best foot forward, delivering fantastic output whilst supporting her peers to do the same. Kim is an avid learner, bringing buckets of enthusiasm to every challenge she undertakes. I firmly believe that Kim will succeed at whatever she puts her mind to, which is why it’s so exciting that she’s now managing Anika’s entire content strategy. She’d be a great asset to any team (but hopefully she’ll be with Anika for a while yet!)

Work at Anika

Kim has been volunteering at Anika since December 2019, contributing in a variety of roles within our Marketing team. At present she volunteers as Anika’s Content Manager, managing social media, public relations and the development of informative digital content for Victorian renters.

During her tenure Kim has led or contributed several key projects, including:

  • The press campaign for our Evictions Service Launch
  • Co-leading a cross-functional team of volunteers in the development of our 2021 Content Strategy
  • Collaborating with our Principal Lawyer and Legal Education team to develop content research tasks for our Student Interns
  • Developed best practise for our social media posts

The first point led to one of Anika's first television spots on 7 News, as part of their coverage on the Evictions Moratorium lifting.

I've had the pleasure of working with Kim in two of her variety of roles at Anika. She single-handedly launched Anika's public relations function, and developed the foundation of Anika Legal's law student community. In both challenges her determination, people-skills, and belief in Anika's vision shone through. Kim's contribution to Anika's capabilities and culture has tangibly enabled Anika to reach new heights. I'm confident she'll excel at anything she puts her mind to, and would have her on my team ten times out of ten.
